In 1969, Cunard Liner Queen Elizabeth 2, made her maiden voyage from England to New York harbor. In 1980, one year after her tenth anniversary, it was announced that the QE2 would embark on a transatlantic voyage called the 1980 World Cruise. The first World Cruise to ever visit 6 continents, including 23 ports, in just 80 days. Merchandise and souvenirs were made to commemorate this voyage that began starting January 20, 1981. Beach Towels, Linen Tea Towels and Pillowcases were among some of the items, which were made by Springs Mills as a private label for Cunard Lines. Standard Pillowcase set with an image on each side. No-Iron Wondercale 65/35 Kodel Polyester/Cotton. Art deco style artwork signed on pillowcase by William A. Sloan, an illustrator that had Cunard Lines as a client. He also made artwork featuring other ocean liners.
