Pacific Mills / M. Lowenstein & Sons
RN 14193
Founded: 1850 (incorporated 1853) Lawrence, MA by Abbott Lawrence
Pacific Mills made fabric, sheets, towels, bedding etc. They started in the Boston area in 1853 and moved to the more textile based South Carolina in 1915. In 1954 Burlington Industries bought them and in 1956 they were sold once more to the Textile/Fabric legend M. Lowenstein & Sons, who also bought Wamsutta. Both stayed with M. Lowenstein until they were bought by Springs in 1986. Springs has since dropped the pacific name (completely closing all pacific facilities as of 1996) but Wamsutta is still one of their brands.
