The People’s Store – F. Auerbach & Brothers
Founded: 1864, Salt Lake City, UT
Jewish family that came to Mormon territory in Utah and befriended Brigham Young who helped them secure a location for their first store. In 1879 during an epidemic Auerbach’s donated all their medicine to the Mormon church. For that Young gave them privileges no other non Mormon ever had.
